New toy!

Ever since i got my new Singer 7442 last january i had problems with it..I could not sew seams that where visible because i just could not get them neat and nice..stitches where uneven or i could just pull a thread and undo all the stitching. Good thing was that i got this deal with it that i could return it within the year and get my money back ( when purchasing another machine that is) and here it is:

My brandnew Janome 3030!!!
It sews so nice and it even has a switch for slow sewing, even when you push the footpedal to the metal, hahaha..

I just tried it one evening, i have been down with a nasty stomach flu this weekend and just feeling well enough to sit behind the computer...

Sewing again.......

a month ago (on his first birthday) our little one suddenly decided not to sleep in his crib anymore..we tried everything...sitting or sleeping in the same room with him, moving his crib to our bedroom, we even took him to the doctors and got him drugs ( too bad they did not work).

How sad is that?...... Last Sunday we where so fed up with it..we decided that whatever happened we would let him sleep in his own bed, and it worked!! He would cry for 1,5 hours, next day 1 hour and the third day for only 10 minutes and yesterday and today went to bed without any crying at all!! Guess what i have been doing for the last few nights? ....Yes..finally sewing again..I have made a playpenquilt for the playpen at my parents house, another quiltie for a swap ( they still need binding, so pics later) and have been cutting squares and strips like a madwoman with my new quilting knife and ruler..

I joined the Good old summerquilt swap and i send my quiltie to Michaela in Germany over a month ago ( bad habit no pic) and got a message that she had received it and liked it.

And today i got my quiltie/wallhanging from Charlotte from the USA..

Don''t you just love the colours?...

Off the computer to sew and cut some more...

Hopefully i will have some more to show soon, i will try and better myself..i really intend to!

My first........

I got my first custom order trough my Etsy shop. The owner of an online yarnshop asked me to make 30 pincushions in a linen and cotton blend as an extra in her sweetcases for May/June.
This is what the box looked like right before i mailed it. I hope the pincushions reach her soon!!!
After i finished these, my brother asked me to make another bib and two more pincushions..i am thinking about opening another online store ( in Dutch) to sell some of the items i make..

And...it was my first mothersday too. I can't believe how fast the past 9,5 months went...my little boy has grown so fast..

We spent the afternoon at my parents, our little one playing in the grass for the first time in his life. Our garden is too small to grow grass.. he enjoyed it very much!

Holly organised a swap where you had to make an apron from only Amy Butler fabrics, you have already seen what i made and sent, this is what i received from my partner Kimberly, along with a recipe for her famous breakfast casserole. The apron is reversible so that i don't have to wash it all the time, i think it's georgeous!!!

Pre Valentine Giveaway

Again it has been a while since i posted...i am busy sewing a apron for this swap i am in..

And some fabulous fifties bibs for our little one, since he is started eating some food, he is going trough bibs and burbcloths like crazy and i can't keep up with washing them, so why not sew him some new ones...

But something else...i know I like sewing, and i love to give things away, so here's your change to win a fat quarter of Sandi Hendersons Henna Garden in red, along with some bits and bobbles that go with the fabric.

All you need to do is tell me what you'd make out of this fat quarter if you win this in a comment.

I will draw a name Friday January 30 so the fabric will hopefully make it in time to you for a little Valentine sewing!!!
